At 14 Days To Close, we believe homeownership isn’t just about owning property. It’s about building legacies, empowering communities, and rewriting financial futures. Today, we’re proud to announce our guest feature in PowerBroker Magazine, a leading voice in real estate and community development. This collaboration highlights our mission to break barriers to Black homeownership, promote financial literacy, and fuel generational wealth in Tampa Bay and beyond.
Black Homeownership At A Glance
Hands down, homeownership is one of the biggest catalysts for generational wealth. Over the course of just two generations, owning a home can anchor financial stability, fund education or entrepreneurship, and serve as a transferable asset that elevates entire families. Yet systemic barriers continue to limit access. Black mortgage applicants face the highest mortgage denial rate of 21%, often due to credit history disparities or income gaps.

While Black Americans are now the fastest-growing group of first-time homebuyers in 2025, only 45% of Black families own homes nationwide, according to the National Association of Realtors.
At 14 Days To Close, we focus on actionable solutions. Our team collaborates with applicants to strengthen credit profiles, optimize debt-to-income ratios, and prepare applications that reflect their true financial potential. By addressing these hurdles head-on, we help families secure approvals and unlock the long-term benefits of homeownership. This isn’t just about buying property; it’s about forging legacies where stability, equity, and opportunity become cornerstones for future generations.
Building Legacies, Not Just Homes
Founded on the belief that everyone deserves a fair shot at homeownership, 14 Days To Close focuses on three core principles: fostering generational wealth, advancing financial literacy, and driving community impact. We work hard to demystify mortgages, credit, and long-term financial planning while partnering with local organizations to prioritize equity in Tampa Bay’s housing market.
